OAKLAND RECRUITABLES

Oakland Gymnastics Qualifies 2 Gymnasts, Jessica Ling and Kathryn Kluz, to the 2012 Nastia Liukin Cup!

On Aug. 11, 2009, USA Gymnastics and Nastia Liukin announced a partnership to create the Nastia Liukin Cup, which would provide a competitive opportunity for the country's top Junior Olympic gymnasts. A field of 34 athletes qualified for the competition this year at 19 meets throughout the country, and we are proud to say that two of those athletes are right here at Oakland Gymnastics - Jessica Ling and Kathryn Kluz (who is a second year qualifier)! Even more exciting, this is the second year, in a row, that we've had two gymnasts qualify to this event!!! Qualifying for this meet was not an easy task. Only one junior and one senior gymnast (at some competitions only one gymnast period) with the highest all around scores, typically, at each of those 19 qualifying meets were invited to attend the Supergirl Cup. Oakland Gymnastics is one of 4 other gyms in the country who qualified more than one gymnast to this prestigious event.

Congratulations Jessica and Kathryn! GO OAKLAND!!

This year's prestigious event will take place in New York City, at Madison Square Garden, on Friday, March 2, 2012.
